Smartphone-Based NFC Potentiostat for Wireless Electrochemical Sensing

Most electrochemical sensing requires affordable, portable and easy-to-use devices for use in point-of-care testing resource-limited settings. This work presents the design evaluates analytical performance of a near-field communication (NFC) potentiostat, flat card-sized device containing microchip electrical analysis an NFC antenna smartphone connection. The interface is wireless connection between to simplify measuring units make potentiostat into passive operated device, running without battery. proposed can perform common techniques including cyclic voltammetry chronoamperometry with current range voltage ±20 µA ±0.8 V. compared commercial benchtop using ferricyanide as standard solution. results show that comparable both measurements. application demonstrated by ascorbic acid concentration. As described, which compatible smartphone, low-cost, small size user-friendly. Thus, be developed on-site measurement apply various fields.
